The first General Assembly of A.M.A. members for the election of the President, Board Members, as well as the President, Vice President, and Members of the Executive Committee. The event took place at the City Hall of Athens. The call for elections was published in the newspapers Eleftheros Typos, Kathimerini, Ethnos, Estia, Enosis tou Ellinismou, and Vradyni.
FORMATION
The first meeting of the A.M.A. Board of Directors was held on 9 May 1924.
During the 1940-41 period, the Emergency Care Shelters (K.E.P.) were established, staffed by volunteer physicians. Their primary mission was to provide medical care, food, and clothing. Doctors who served voluntarily in the K.E.P. had their service recognized as pensionable following certification by the A.M.A.
In 1956, the Medical Association of Kallithea was dissolved and merged with the Athens Medical Association.
The current Board of Directors of the Athens Medical Association is its 25th.
